Since our beginning, when Leo Swan and Ed Harding started EDCO-Equipment Development Company in 1959 on the foundation of their Concrete Grinder, the first obligation has always been to the customer. EDCO evolved around the prioritization of our customer dependent culture. We know that we are nothing without the customer, so we recently visited several long-standing rental customers to get an inside look at their businesses and how mutually advantageous we are to one another.
Kennebec Rental, which features six different location in Maine (Auburn, Bangor, Fairfield, Kittery, Portland, and Woolwich), was founded in 1964 by Raymond Wilson, who was a general contractor in Maine. Still maintaining the family-run business, Raymond’s son, David, oversees the six location operation that serves contractor, industry, and homeowner rental needs.
What started as a construction drilling and blasting company, Kennebec Rental now encompasses the rental needs of small do-it-yourself projects all the way up to large commercial projects. With an inventory that includes aerial lifts, concrete equipment, generators, plumbing equipment, woodworking equipment, among other rental equipment, Kennebec Rental offers a multitude of tools and equipment that has met customers’ needs for over 50 years.
With their six location operation, the full range of inventory across each location can be transported in order to provide the customer with the best equipment available to achieve their task.
Kennebec Rental is well-equipped with experienced employees in the rental industry who are able to service customers before, during, and after their rental, consistently answering questions and subsiding any problems that may be experienced in the rental process.
By taking advantage of the EDCOEd program, a tool designed to provide education and training for EDCO machines and accessories, the Kennebec Rental staff is able to develop a deep understanding on the capabilities of our machines and accessories, as well as how to use each in the most effective way possible.
“EDCO goes above and beyond to make sure we are armed with the best training tools,” Dan Morris, a representative for Kennebec Rental said.
By also taking advantage of our “How to Profitably Rent” guide, Kennebec Rental is able to set appropriate rental rates for the machines and accessories that ensure they are maximizing their profit.
“The EDCO line has been very profitable for us with very minimal maintenance cost, and also the innovativeness of the products,” Morris said.
